An introduction to the new The World of Fine Wine website

By David Williams

Since its launch in 2004, The World of Fine Wine has aspired to set the highest of editorial standards, with the quarterly print edition firmly established as the world’s most respected and intellectually satisfying wine magazine, with subscribers in more than 30 countries.

Now, with the launch of a completely redesigned website, World of Fine Wine is set to take its award-winning content to an even wider audience.

The new website is the fruit of a year of planning and hard work from the WFW team, with the goal of creating a cleaner, more easily navigable site that showcases WFW’s inimitable blend of in-depth reporting, tasting expertise, fine writing, and beautiful photography and presentation.

As well as highlights from the magazine, the site will be the home to a range of original, web-exclusive content, with regular columns and features from the WFW’s pool of globally respected contributors covering all aspects of wine culture.

Whether they’re reporting on the latest events in Bordeaux, Burgundy, or California, interviewing winemakers and sommeliers, or reflecting on a special single vineyard or bottle of wine, the worldoffinewine.com’s contributors will follow the same distinctive editorial philosophy as the print edition: sophisticated, authoritative, but always entertaining.

The site is also the gateway to an entirely revamped digital offering for the WFW’s globally respected annual competition for restaurants, bars, and hotels, The World’s Best Wine Lists.

The WBWL site, always a mine of fascinating information about the vinous offering of hundreds of the world’s best places to drink wine, is now considerably easier to use, with improved search facilities enabling the user to find restaurants by award-level, region, or city, and a much cleaner, fresher look.
