BB | Pale garnet to tawny. A gentle, floral, complex nose, with wild strawberry, rose water, crushed stones, wild herbs, and fennel leaf. Medium-bodied, lively, and mineral palate, with refined tannins and rose petals. Closes firmly, with a long, mineral finish. 93
AJ | Very pale; translucent rose-garnet. Haunting, lifted, and ethereal: essence of rosehip and hedgerow berries, with some crab-apple fruit. Wild nature at its finest: a core of the appeal here. Primitive, primeval, and wild on the palate, too, but not in a negative, exaggeratedly "natural" sense; this really tastes like a mouthful of wild-vine fruit from pre-glacial woodland margins. Fresh, light, sweet yet bitter-edged, packed with the best vegetal excitements and sylvan perfumes; as one might imagine (!) neanderthal wine. Totally delicious and thoroughly recommendable, though I wouldn't keep it a long while—rip in soon. 93
MP | Pretty nose, with acacia, rose, and violet teamed up with red currant, strawberry, and pomegranate. Subtle, smoky notes from oak add complexity. The palate leads with developed and ripe notes of cranberry, dark chocolate, hedgerow, and damp earth. The finish is driven by the delicate yet concentrated fruit, and the tannins, while high, are supportive and largely grape-derived. The crisp natural acidity keeps everything in focus and augers well for future development in bottle. This is subtle rather than full-throttle, but it has a sprightly, determined spring in its step. 93
