SB | Pretty nose, with white peach and a delicate floral charm. Fresh and crisp, this shows fine acidity and punch. It's not that nuanced, but it has vigor and a direct, linear character, with some quince tones. Although the acidity will sustain the wine for some time, I would guess that it's best enjoyed young for its youthful charm and lift. Moderate length. 90
AJ | Bright pale gold. Fresh, dry, leafy, softly nutty. An understated aroma, but quietly attractive. Finally a little raw, after time in the glass. Very dry but concentrated and long, and actually there is a lot behind the acidity: green fruits, pollen, and honey; a little brandysnap richness. A wine of unshowy complexity, which might be better after a year or two longer. 89
SR | This 2021 opens quite aromatic and intense on the nose, which is clearly dominated by its more clayey terroir, and gives some hedonistic fruit aromas reminiscent of Gewurztraminer, such as from the Alsace Grand Cru Schoenenbourg. Litchee, yellow roses, and earthy as well as very discreet oaky and savory flavors make for a fascinating nose. On the palate, this is an elegant, rich, and dry Pacherenc, with an intense, dense, and powerful fruit reminiscent of melons and tropical stone fruits such as just-ripe mangos. The finish is tight, grapefruit-bitter and saline, indicating a still-very young but promising white brother from Madiran. 92
