SR | Fascinating in its purity and intensity, this is a perfectly clear, concentrated, and citrus-flavored Rangen Riesling, with great terroir expression and stony as well as tannic flavors. On the palate, this is a rich yet refined and elegant Rangen Riesling, with ripe pear aromas and a long, intense, and finely tannic finish. Not really bone-dry, but round, lush, and intense, with persistent salinity and mineral grip. Powerful and rich, very intense and long, yet still on its way. Most probably closed at this stage, but with huge potential to improve with bottle age. 94
AJ | Bright, pale gold, with pale-gold glints. Another rather underwhelming Rangen aroma: smoky and warm, but little beyond that. Sound and inviting, nonetheless. On the palate, this is a wine of depth, density, and drive; sappy, sound, and with the distinctive burned note that characterizes Rangen. But it is not a wine with a lot of focus or precision. The palate wealth is impressive, however, as is the monumental style. 89
AR | A youthful, light, lemony green in color. A light, fresh tingle on the tongue; there's a rather delightful quality to the aromas and flavors of this dry white; fragrantly intense, with notes of floral blossom and lime citrus, there's a slight smokiness to the opulently limey fruit, which is delicate, fine, and beautifully balanced; a subtly wrought Alsace Riesling whose presence grows on you the more you smell and taste it. Simply beautiful. 95
