AJ | Saturated deep, dense black-red. Wonderful aromas: earth, dense, complex and complete, with impressive spice and fruit purity, extract, leather and undergrowth ... the kind of things which don't necessarily creep into four--year-old Bordeaux. Commanding and arresting. Tasting the wine, you'd say that the aromas have somehow crept ahead of the flavour profile, since it is still very primary and elemental: trench-deep, with a great cliff face of bright, sheer fruit, brisk tannin, vivacious, fruit-bonded acidity. A super-impressive Lynch-Bages from this mesmerising vintage, and one with a huge amount to give in the long term.Drink Dates: 2025 - 2050. 95
MS | Fragrant and fine to smell, subtly blackcurrant and gravel; full bodied, concentrated wine, fresh in acidity, finely firm in tannin; deep, sweetly ripe yet fresh flavoured palate, mineral in aromas, long, close grained and complex, a lovely depth of flavour, gently muscular in its expression of Pauillac, satisfyingly tannic, prolonged and sapid, with a splendid fruit core, a fine aromatic complexity and excellent length to finish. A most complete and classy long term Lynch Bages. Drink Dates: 2035 - 2055+. 95
