SF | Evocative deep colour; structurally dense and evocative, impressive quality of ripe fruit, chalky, firm tannins and a seductive undercurrent of chocolate and roses. Oak integration successful despite or maybe because of the intensity ( and quality ) of the wood on display; elegant only marginally drying tannins. Plush, cushioned and extremely refined. 93
AJ | Dark, deep black-red. Lively, fresh and sweet-toned: cherry and violet over a backdrop of cream. Understated by comparison with many of its peers, but so enticing ... Fresh, lively, sweet, darting, high-focussed and charming: a kind of Fragonard cloud hovering over its appellation. Warm toward the finish, with slightly sinewy tannins, but the charming fruits win out.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2035. 93
MS | Beautifully sweet-cored, focussed nose, complex, persistent, very finely limestone; full, concentrated, very fresh in acidity, very fine in a delicately firm tannin; sweetly ripe, always fresh, deep, searching, succulent. Matter-rich without any coarseness, a striking tenacity across the palate, a fine complexity alongside the St Emilion plateau finesse and transparency, and with impressive length. Magnificent Bélair-Monange. The best so far under the Moueix management? They have now really gotten the measure of this terroir, revealing its particularly detailed and refined attributes, without the mask of excess. Drink Dates: 2035 - 2060+. 96
