AJ | Dark, dense black-red; opaque at the core. Secondary aromas now: spice, beef and sweet hay over warm, lifted fruits. Dense, concentrated and serious on the palate, with a powerful core of ripe fruits (fig and date more than currants or plums), generous tannins and a falling sweetness. Certainly a ripe reading of the vintage, but there is a huge amount to enjoy here if you relish that approach. The finish is almost brandied. Just a little hard to drink, despite its virtues.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 91
MS | Closed to smell at the moment, quite minerally, and the fruit rather hidden; full, fresh, moderately tannic; a very attractive core of pure, sweet, juicy fruit here, long, gently racy, close grained and fragrant, all this finesse a little marked by the oak-dry tannins, not unpleasantly, but clearly enough. Which said, this is particularly tasty, classy, satisfyingly complete Larcis. Give it time. Drink Dates: 2030 - 2045+. 93
