SF | Raven black at the core, a touch of sepia at the rim. Nose of undergrowth, Assam tea and violet; understated yet articulate. There is an earthy , almost resinous core here, the acidity pronounced and slightly domineering; the fruit tannins persuasive but not fully integrated. A subtext of mocha and graphite, and then spice and pepper; stone fruit tannins, slate almost; slightly warm on the finish. I miss a crystalline purity and benchmark Margaux shape. 89
MS | Black fruit ripe yet fresh to smell, subtle too; nicely concentrated, medium full wine, freshly defined, very fine in tannin, a lovely overall balance; a gently fleshy richness, long and savoury to taste, sweetly ripe fruited, very nice length across the palate, all the while harmonious and with excellent persistence too. A first rate, a beautiful Angludet, a lovely expression of Margaux. So delicious you could drink it with pleasure already, but pleasure deferred a few years will mean pleasure enhanced. Beautifully judged, beautifully made. Drink Dates: 2025 - 2040+. 92
