AJ | Dark, deep black-red, opaque at the core. Excitingly aromatic, if unfinessed: a big bulge of fruit contenders. Zesty and lively -- but actually subtle and nuanced, too. Excellent aromatics here. Soft, open, generous, packed with lively fruit and backed by serious tannins, energetic and articulate, this is an excellent St Emilion and, noting the 13% alcohol, I have to say there is no sense of shortness or unripeness. An exciting, articulate and exuberant wine at what is presumably an attractive price.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 90
MS | Sweet, subtle freshly red-cherry-ripe nose; medium full, fresh, moderately, finely tannic; as always this is a bit marked in texture by its new wood, but within that it is pure, elegant, finely fruity, transparent and not without finesse and excellent fragrant length. Old fashioned St Emilion, in the nicest sense … the presence of new wood apart, perhaps. Drink Dates: 2030 - 2040+. 91
