AJ | Dark black-red though not quite opaque, Fresh and attractive woodland fruits: currant, damson, elder. Intense, pure, long, relatively lean and lively on the palate in classical, mouth-freshening style. A wine of the woods, as Pessac-Leognan often is, but a successful one, with length and drive.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2031. 90
MS | Very sweetly ripe cassis fruit to smell; full, fresh enough, quite firm in tannin, a quite powerful expression of its origin; the alcohol impression somewhat dominates the Pessac finesse, and just renders this a bit blunt as an expression of the Graves. Warm, tannic, straightforward, already drinkable with protein rich food to absorb the tannins, its ‘chunky’ presence unlikely to change much with age. Drink Dates: 2024 - 2029. 86
