AJ | Deep, clear black-red; scarlet glints. Aromatically, this is less pure than most of its peers, though not unattractive: there's a grassy or leafy note obtruding a little on the plum fruits. A minor qualm about what is still fundamentally a very appealing wine in this remarkably consistent tasting. Ditto on the palate -- some leafy shading here, holding back the fruited resonance a little. Amply drinkable nonetheless.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 86
BB | Garnet to tawny. Sweet tobacco, orange peel, cedar wood, crashed stones, hints of tar and rose water nose. Medium to full body with super sweet, layered, black and red fruits palate, very long and inviting. A classic, superb BaroloDrink Dates: 2025 - 2040. 97
MP | Pronounced but slightly weedy nose with notes of tomato leaf, hay, liquorice, cinnamon, wet stone, plum and blackberry. This picks up its skirts on the palate with very ripe red and black fruit and layers of complex flavours including floral, herbaceous, and spicy notes. The fine tannins and crisp acidity are more than enough to tackle the fruit and the length is exemplary.Drink Dates: 2028 - 2035. 95
