AJ | Relatively deep for Verduno: clear dark black-red. Moist violet and wet woods; not quite the singing fruits, but more of a sappy urgency here. A different face of 2019. Touch gluey. Deep fruits, but a little clumsy in style, without the fine-buffed refinement of the vintage's best. On the plus side, there is plenty of drive and follow-through here, and no one will feel short-changed by this chunky wine.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 87
BB | Garnet to pink. Complex, mature yet restrained, blue and red fruits, hints of tar, forest floor, violets nose. Medium to full body, lively with chalk, red cherries, fresh herbs, palate with long floral finish.Drink Dates: 2025 - 2035. 93
MP | Curious, vegetal nose with pepper, damp earth, tomato leaf, red cherry, plum compote, and liquorice. The palate has very firm tannins and just misses a little fruit concentration to balance. The acidity is crisp and provides focus but it lacks complexity with a stewed character on the finish.Drink Dates: 2027 - 2013. 92
