AJ | A deep-hued wine: dense plum-red at the core to garnet at the rim. Frank, full, fresh and lively aromatically, with lots of plum and pomegranate energy; one of the more pungent wines, but those aromas are well-ordered. After a while in the glass, there is a slight loss of purity, and a perfume-grass/vetiver note creeps in: just a little strange. Masterful and generously constructed on the palate, but stylistically staightforward, with a slight lack of fruit charm. Lots of wine here, though, and perhaps further storage will see the wine better resolved.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 86
BB | Dark core to pink. Broad, open, black fruits, smoke, tar, forest floor, blood oranges nose. Medium to full body, mineral, lively, clean, generous, sweet dark fruits palate with long, refined finish.Drink Dates: 2025 - 2035. 94
MP | Beautiful nose with classic red fruit notes of cherry, cranberry and plum joined by exotic spice including sandalwood and liquorice. The palate adds strawberry, raspberry, and pomegranate alongside rose petal and Turkish delight. In the mouth this unfolds gracefully with silky tannins and bracing acidity that work together to drive an exceptional finish. This is textbook Barolo from a landmark vintageDrink Dates: 2029 - 2040. 98
