AJ | Translucent, deep and clear, with garnet glints. Frank, open fruit-scents in sweet, pastille-like style. This, too, on the palate: very attractive in essence, as it is a true account of place and vintage -- but very settled already, without a lot of structure and density to the fruit, so I don't see this wine as particularly long-lasting or head-turning. But there are still virtues! It is graceful, subtle, drinkable and classical, and it has delicious appetising tannins, too, like almost all the wines of this vintage. Hugely enjoyable, in other words. A finer aromatic profile would have brought a slightl.y higher score; the palate is excellentDrink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 90
BB | Pale garnet to pink. Intense, earthy, complex, cedar wood, road tar, small red fruits, touch of vanilla, hazelnuts nose. Medium to full body, layered black fruit, chalk, prunes, fresh herbs, palate with long, firm, finish. Great Barolo for the cellar.Drink Dates: 2030 - 2040. 94
MP | Curious nose with pronounced yet one-dimensional cherry aromas including red, black ,cherry sweets and cough drops. On the palate this has requisite structure but the fruit reflects the four-square nature on the nose and it lacks the drive and additional layer of fruit required at this level.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2030. 91
