AJ | The last wine in our tasting, and surely the deepest in colour: dense, almost opaque black-red. Chunky blackberry and damson fruits on the nose, with some oak-sweetening: attractive if unclassical in terms of understatement, nuance and suggestion. It's a rich mixture and indeed almost peaty. This is absolutely what you get on the palate, and I can't really add anything to the aromatic description. Exuberant and carnivalesque, and rewarding in its elemental being (nothing is missing; it's just that some things are overdone) ... but stylistically not really my cup of tea.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 88
BB | Black core to garnet rim. Impenetrable black fruits, tar, earthy nose. Over extracted palate, very challenging at present. Needs more time to be anywhere close to be pleasant.Drink Dates: 2030 - ?. 88
MP | Simple, ripe and confected nose with obvious black fruit camphor, liquorice and tar. The nose is evolved and the palate is simple with masses of very ripe black fruit, high alcohol and aggressive tannins. The balance is missing and the tannins dominate.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2027. 88
