SF | A hint of terracotta at the rim, the core vermillion, a touch bloody. High toned, smoky and rich, its firm clasp of tannins showing no sign of relenting, its acidity inclining towards the more volatile end of the spectrum. Potent , powerful and plush, a distinctive statement. 92
DW | Very ripe and concentrated, maybe just teetering into over-ripe with a candied quality to the fruit and some baking spice elements, too; lush and a teeny bit foursquare, saved by a finish in which a streak of red-fruited freshness leavens the candied quality.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2032. 89
AR | Mid-ruby in colour, This is showing nicely in its aromas, just starting to evolve with notes of caramel and vanilla oak in the background, and then some exceedingly ripe and concentrated fruit in the middle of a mouthful which is extremely unusual in that it mingles the sweetness of fruit and caramel richness with a faint umami-like bitter streak on the back palate; a wine probably best enjoyed relatively young while the fruit is still in the ascendant.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 91
