SF | Rich ruby, bright , but with a deeply stained core...elegant and challenging, a web of pleasing contradiction, all pirouetting on a shard of acidity , defiant of the rigours of age and the predations of time. An impressive example and a more than worthy ambassador of the value of Dao a decade down the line.. 92
AJ | Dark, dense saturated red black ... Dao has no problem retaining its polyphenols! Gentle and mature, with ample cedary classicism. Essentially the smell of maturity -- would be quite hard to place outside its peer group This is still a 2013 with lots of inner stuffing and drive. An exciting moutful now, but this is one you don't have to hurry over: ample dense plum and apple fruits with vital tannin shaping and a faintly smoky finish. Holding off the years well.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 91
RM | Another deep, almost opaque wine, retaining a youthful rim; open, quite powerful ripe, leathery aromas and a full, firm leathery flavour to match with a sinewy, quite austere tannic finish. Just about all there and drinking well if a drying out on the finish.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 90
