BB | Garnet to ruby, Developed, touch oxidised nose with some black fruit, meaty, black truffles character. Better palate with pronounced yet fine tannins and long, spicy finish. Touch heavy handed effort.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2032. 93
AJ | Dark, glowing black-red Sweet, light, fragrant and allusive: a dense weave of red fruit, summer grasses and remembered citrus. Yet another beaut: this time it is a soft, tender but succulently dense wine with a gorgeous inner sucrosity to its fruits. I honestly didn't know Brunello could be quite this delicious and easy-to-approach, yet at the same time you'll find huge flavour resource sewn up in the fruit and the tannins here; in that sense, it is almost a deceptively lovely wine. Splendid stuff and no imperative to wait here -- though it will be better still in four or five years.Drink Dates: 2026 - 2033. 93
MP | The nose is obvious with a baked fruit and spice showing liquorice, charred wood, black cherry, plum and cinnamon. The generous impression on the nose continues to the palate where the richness of baked plum and cherry together with notable oak characteristics combine with ripe tannins and soft acidity to craft a big-hearted red of much charm that lacks the subtlety found in the best wines.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2020. 92
