AR | Medium ruby shading to garnet, this is a tad wan and shy in aroma and when you get to the taste, it's also almost savoury before it's fruity, a balsamic note seeming to supersede the fruit, which is fine if you're drinking it with the right food, but a little more mid-plate sweetness of fruit wouldn't have gone amiss. MP | Little to apprehend on the nose of this Brunello although there are subtle notes of red currant, rose hip, cranberry and tinned strawberry. The palate is equally discreet with no obvious oak to occlude the fruit and a finish of surprising length with red currant, cherry, white pepper, wet stone and cedar. Although much less showy, the subtlety and balance are impossiblem to ignore - the finsih is more than 30 seconds and the fruit is sustained supported by tannins and acidity. Will be fascinating to see how this develops. Drink Dates: 2028 - 2036. 96
