SF | A tricky vintage for Gonzague, given his strict adherence to organic principle. He has fared well and the wine is more generous and overtly fruity than both la Gurgue and Ferriere, both made in a similar fashion. Maybe the picking date? Riper in any event and more generous; griotte, blackberry and Mirabelle plum are evidenced before the characteristically 'earthy' profile. A very pleasing note of black pepper too. There is real concentration on the palate, deftly orchestrated and finely grained tannins, and a pleasing crescendo on the finish. The oak stands out for sure, but one suspects that this is only to be temporary. Bravo! Drink Dates: 2028 - 2041. 92
