Restaurant AOC

By Thierry Dessauve

As the name suggests, Copenhagen’s AOC is a restaurant that has taken great care to appeal to wine lovers.

Fans of Burgundy will be particularly excited when they scan the names in sans serif font on the clean, unfussy wine list. With multiple vintages of the grands and premiers crus of François Raveneau, Pierre-Yves Colin Morey, Leflaive, François Berthau, Bernard Dugat-Py, and Georges Roumier, among many others, it’s a treat for lovers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

On a list that prefers depth of vintages and wines from its favorite producers over breadth of names, these Burgundian classics are joined by deep collections from the likes of Domaine de Pagau and Domaine de la Modorée in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Bond by Bill Harlan in Napa Valley, and La Spinetta in Barolo.

But there is also a sprinkling of wines from interesting emerging regions such as Danish and English sparkling wines, on a list that offers plenty of options to match the immaculate modern Danish menu.
