A Cut is the only institution in Taiwan to receive an award for excellence from Wine Spectator for the last six years consecutively, making this wine list a leading contender from Asia in its third appearance in the World of Fine Wine Awards 2016. Four categories of wines – Old World, New World, French wine and the A Cut Selection narrow-down a collection of over 800 for diners.
An extensive list of French wines cannot be ignored, where multiples of vintages such as Château Haut-Brion are available.
In its basement location at the Ambassador Hotel, the restaurant exudes sophistication with a stitched leather, dark wood and plush carpet interior, coupled with subtle notes of jazz. A lavish experience ensues where well-balanced flavours are created by pairing 40-day-aged beef of only the highest quality with superb vintages.
A Cut has previously received two stars in the World of Fine Wine Awards 2014 and 2015, featured in the Taiwan Sommelier Association magazine and the Miele Guide in recognition as one of Asia’s finest restaurants 2010/2011.
As a steakhouse first and foremost, fine seafood makes an appearance on the menu with Nicaragua lobster tail as an option to couple with steaks. Catering to all diners, the restaurant also features a speciality vegetarian menu.
