The attention to detail that has made Emirates one of the best airlines in the world when it comes to wine is perhaps best summed up by the different listings it offers for different routes.
On routes to South East Asia, the Far East, and Asia-Pacific, for example, first-class passengers are offered (or were offered at the time of judging the World’s Best Wine Lists awards) New Zealand’s Staete Landt Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007 and Australia’s Yabby Lake Vineyard Pinot Noir 2005. Flights to the UK and the Americas, by contrast, instead presented California’s Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay 2005 and Silverado Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley 2004. It’s a small difference, maybe, but significant in terms of the considerate way Emirates treats its passengers.
