MASH Aarhus

MASH Aarhus is an American-style steakhouse with over seven other locations worldwide. The MASH franchise is celebrated for taking the steakhouse model and assimilating it with a fine dining experience on an international level. Our judges note that the wine list is, “dedicated to California… [with] great international choices, too”.

In contrast to the huge wine list of up to 500 references, the menu itself is relatively simple and short – providing a selection of premium steaks from Japanese Wagyu to Danish, or Uruguayan prime cuts. Accordingly, the wine list is dominated by red wine, staying true to its modern American roots and offering an impressive range of Californian Zinfandel, also by the glass. Assistant sommelier Emil Kehlet, a self-described Francophile, features a section of his personal favorites at the head of the list. Among these are novel choices including English sparkling wine from Nyetimber–2009 Blanc de Blancs–and Bourgogne Rouge "Vielles Vignes”, Koji et Jae Hwa. Kehlet’s highlights also include notes next to each reference, providing context for the wine or wine style. For large parties, many of the finest bins also come in magnum format.
