Pullman Bar à Vin

By Thierry Dessauve

Pullman is a wine-focused restaurant in downtown Montreal, offering tapas-style plates, cheeses and charcuterie to complement the wines.

The wine list offers many classic names, but also ensures there is a mixture of new generation wines, too. At the time of writing there were a series of wine flights available in threes, which encompass Galicien including Rias Baixas; Burja, comprising a good selection of Slovenian wines; and Josetta Saffirio with Barolo, Barbera, and Langhe options. The by-the-glass wine list is notable and a good length with 50 references; this naturally suits the small, sharing dishes menu style. The list is presented well with clarity, broken into a countries and going into depth with Old World wines, but also allocating a specific section to New World wines with options such as Finger Lakes Riesling, Niagara Peninsula Chardonnay, Margaret River Chardonnay, Central Otago Pinot Noir and Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. With over 450 wines on offer, Pullman showcases iconic labels but also offers an excellent selection of interesting labels.
