Simon Field: Youthful generous color, cardinal purple, hints of deep crimson; a most attractive nose; mulberry, raisin, and violets; summer jasmine, even; delicious fruit-driven palate, sweet and only gently intoxicating; the Fragonard swing between acidity and sweet fruit is held in perfect suspension and awaits the verdict of its own evolution. | 92
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red though less opaque than many of its peers in this vintage. Sweetly grassy; little fresh-fruit purity here, though. A soft, ample mouthful of relatively low-focus fruit, and fair tannic support: an accessible and unforbidding Vintage Port that will provide lots of uncomplicated short- to medium-term enjoyment. | 85
Richard Mayson: Deep, opaque, though not as inky as some of the ’09s; giving away very little on the nose, still quite sullen, though with underlying ripeness evident. Lovely, bright, vibrant fruit, again quite soft and fleshy initially, but this has the tannic structure to support it for the future. A spike of ripe tannin goes all the way through a long, vibrant finish. Still a bit raw around the edges, but all there for a long future. Drink 2030–60+. | 90
