Michael Edwards: Profound green-gold; a real robe. This wine is a reminder that great Côte de Beaune whites can still be big beasts. Sniffed blind, the notes of coffee might misleadingly suggest Pinot Noir, the terroir speaking more strongly than the variety. But a dense, superb Chardonnay minerality soon takes over, and hidden peach-like flavors peep through. Still very tight and closed, but majestic. Wait ten years plus. 18
