Simon Field: Deep, dense, and perfectly poised; the visual impact is echoed on nose and palate alike; the ripeness of the vintage bears witness to a rich and velvety fruit personality, its potential greatness slowly unburdening the years with a harmony that is polymesmeric in scope. Hard not to like, despite its relative youth. | 89
Andrew Jefford: Dark, saturated black-red, just off opaque. Slightly savory, mealy aromas, with a faint, sickly sweet animal hint; neither classically pure fruits nor the wild plants and herbs. Nonetheless, there is plenty of fruit here all the same, buried underneath that savory layer, and the wine still smells enticing. On the palate, this is dense, serious, taut, and well constructed, so you have to hope that the scents can find a little more depth and diversity with time. | 89
Richard Mayson: Very deep, dark center, thin crimson rim. Still rather soupy (even rubbery) and ill defined on the nose, a touch stewed, but perhaps just a phase of this wine’s adolescence. Rich and supple initially on the palate, stewed plums with ripe tannins massing in the mouth, leading to a massive finish. Very impressive now but needing time to develop. 2025–50+. | 92
