Stephen Brook | Forceful lime nose. And while there is a trace of cat’s pee, too, it’s an elegant cat. This has striking weight of fruit rather than finesse, and ample concentration and depth of flavor. Very ripe and not especially mineral, it displays abundant fruit and good, if not exceptional, underlying acidity. Its amplitude and depth make up for a slight lack of precision. Long, nutty finish. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Brilliant steel-green. Lean and pure scents; a whisper of citrus, a flutter of spring leaf; not much more than that. On the palate, there is lots of limey purity backed up by those licked chalk- stick sensations, which may be auto-suggestion but which dignify and lend interest to the pure, restrained fruits. Limpid, fresh, and true; vinous and long without being heavy; graceful and gastronomic. | 91
Stephan Reinhardt | Beautifully bright, clear, and crunchy on the nose, with white fruit and flint, as well as some leafy notes; this is a concentrated, pure, fine, and elegant Mont Damnés, with a fresh and salty- piquant finish. This is an oyster transformed into wine; there is not much flesh but lots of salt and wind in it. Pretty Atlantic, with a stimulatingly crunchy-salty finish and great length. A classic and nothing but itself. A natural beauty. | 93
