BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook | Delicate nose, grass and grapefruit. Fresh and sleek on the palate, but a touch slack. There’s a lack of acidity and punch here—and despite some gritty minerality, it seems a touch dull and inexpressive. One-dimensional, with a bit too much citric character for the modest fruit. Moderate length. | 84

Andrew Jefford | Pale steel-silver. Elegant, light, and fresh, with plenty of sweet restraint here; perhaps the least typical of the Chêne Marchand wines, but an attractive, engaging aroma nonetheless. Bright, light, poised, fresh, zingy; an alto or a soprano among its Chêne Marchand peers, and almost lemony, yet much to enjoy. | 89

Stephan Reinhardt | Precise and fresh on the bright, intense, and crunchy-spicy as well as herbal/floral nose (with just a kiss of sweet oak), this is a full-bodied, dense, yet elegant Chêne Marchand, with a pure, fresh, and salty-piquant, well-structured finish. Quite powerful, though. | 92
