Jamie Goode | Fresh and focused, with lovely black-cherry fruit, some notes of graphite, and good structure. It’s a ripe, lush wine, but it has great definition, too. Stylish and nicely proportioned with everything in its place. Lots of pleasure here: ripe, seamless, and mouth-filling. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Saturated deep black-red; opaque. Sweet, warm, rather high-toned rich black-cherry fruit. Hints of jam and earth; late-summer bounty, almost to the point of a slightly kinky strangeness. Rich and deep on the palate, too, with a little more tannic support for the acid-driven fruit than most of its peers. Firm, thrusting, and authoritative, this is a Walla Walla Syrah that clearly has more to give over the next decade. The bright black-and- red-cherry fruits provide a sensual allure that sometimes seems to elude its peers. This is good wine that would win a higher score still with a little bit more aromatic purity. | 90
David Williams | Inky, ripe, and dense: lots of intense dark fruit; chunky, youthful, but well-managed tannins; lots of substance and richness. A heavyweight but with proper Syrah character: a meatiness and black-olive darkness to go with the still-fragrant dark berries, and balanced freshness, too. One for the cellar. | 92
