Jamie Goode | Lush, fleshy, and delicious, but always staying in balance, this is an impressive wine. There’s a core of sleek blackcurrant fruit, and some nice grippy structure, and a sense of harmony. Clearly a ripe wine, but one where everything is working together, finishing fresh and bright. Great concentration. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Saturated deep black-red; opaque. Deep, pressed-violet floral notes over dark plum fruits. Very impressive for a 2012, and with a sense of harmony and balance that eludes some of the younger wines. This has a much finer aromatic profile than most of its peers; very well-handled oak. In the mouth, this is full, spicy, energetic, and deep, with ample fruit presence, generously supportive, rounded tannins, and ripe, resonant acidity. Wholly enjoyable and maturing impressively. Truly an outstanding effort here.| 94
David Williams | Big and juicy and intense: ripe, bold fruit, toasty oak and ripe tannin. A pulse of freshness holds it together; this is not a fashionable style, but that package of fresh Washingtonian fruit at its core is very appealing. | 89
