Jamie Goode | Warm, sweet, slightly sappy nose, with fine aromatics of cherries and undergrowth. The palate is ripe but detailed with fine notes of green herbs, some lavender, and succulent, lush cherry and berry fruits. A ripe, sweetly fruited yet complex wine full of intrigue. | 95
Andrew Jefford | Light, clear, and translucent garnet-red. Warm, attractively savory aromas, underpinned by smoky redcurrant fruits. Very alluring and very “Syrah” in the original Northern Rhône-like scheme of things. A sherbety freshness, too. Bright, intense, tangy, and sinewy on the palate, with no tannins at all and significant levels of driving acidity; very sinewy redcurrant fruits once again, with a smoky edge. There’s a salty note to the fruits, too. Quite a challenging mouthful. | 87
David Williams | Pretty, aromatic, almost dainty nose: lots of red berry, subtle herbal/aniseed-like notes. Delightful spice and red-fruit clarity on the palate: composed, silky, succulent, closely-knit fine tannins, a touch of Campari-bitterness/ wild sage bush on the finish, which is long and satisfyingly dry. Really intriguing and characterful.| 93
