Jamie Goode | A ripe, sweetly fruited wine, with sweet berry and cherry fruit complemented by some spicy vanilla oak. A forward, seductive style that’s well made but perhaps a little too easy and friendly to merit a very high score. It falls into the well-made international wine style. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Dark, deep, and dense black-red. Slightly lurid aromas of sweet vanilla and mint; charming if blowsy. The palate has lashings of everything, lashed into place: black fruits, sweetness, perfume, acidity, too. Another decidedly “show-stopping” style of Walla Walla Syrah, but I would find it rather a challenge to drink. However, if you like the frank and the flamboyant in your Washington Syrah, this may be the wine for you.| 88
David Williams | Brooding dark nose, with vanilla and cocoa powder, a broad-shouldered bigness and sweet- fruited richness on the dense but finely balanced palate: There’s a spark here amid the sensuous weight of fruit. The tannins are fine, the finish long and tapering. Impressive, generous, and ageworthy. | 93
