Michael Edwards: Côte de Léchet is often the longest-lived and most elegant of the Left Bank premiers crus. I once drank a ’49 Côte de Léchet from Jean Defaix (Dampt’s father-in-law) in 1990—in superb condition. This will be an excellent, bordering on exceptional wine. 17
