BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Good flesh, rich wine, balanced and flavorful, albeit less nuanced than the grand vin. | 93

Michael Schuster | Dense, concentrated red and St-Julien black-fruit ripe; rich and full and fresh and tannic; deep, crisply ripe fruit, a very nice, sappy core, plenty of aroma there, too, elegant, rich, fleshy, an almost creamy character; generous, long, and fine, with a delicate fruit-cored length to finish. A lovely, rich-ripe, juicy quality here, which will give a lot of "new-style" pleasure, but the firm texture in this vintage will mean it will need a decade. 2027–40. | 90–91
