Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | A Pavie Macquin with well-established tannins that will soften with time. | 94–95
Michael Schuster | A little wood-dried to smell alongside the hint of garrigue herbs; rich, lively, tannic, a bit wood-dried on the nose, too, so making the wine more difficult to read; that said, this is juicy, vivid, black- and red-fruit ripe, long, succulent, and fine, with a lovely fleshy richness and fine length; definition, energy, persistence, and a lovely racy quality. Beautiful Pavie Maquin. Who would have thought I would ever say that of this group? Even if there is still the oak-dryness, there is just so much less than in the past. 2030–45+. | 92–94
