Simon Field | An attractive and elegant example, poached pear, peach, and hints of quinine all evidenced, a call to arms... The palate is silky, its cashmere plush has Salomé’s appeal, but grip, tension, and complexity are all sacrificed to promote a rococo postcard of unfailing seduction. Only the most subtle whisper of oxidation tempers the conductor’s baton. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Pale steel-gold. Rather fresh, almost grapey aromas, with some mint, rose petal, and grapefruit pith. Off-beam if you are looking for absolute classicism, but enticing nonetheless. The palate is lively, fresh, vivid, and clean, without much summer fruit but with ample floral notes and some acid balance, too. Juicy and fresh; fenugreek spice to finish. | 88
John Livingstone-Learmonth | Rich-aspect yellow robe. A buttery, oaked aroma leads the nose, a style of the ground more than the air, redoubtable inner strength. The palate reflects that as well, with some red-wine features in its shaping, and touches of tannin on the closing stages. This is grapey, full-frontal Condrieu for sauced dishes and strong flavor associations. Its drive is impressive and prevails over any notes of finesse. 2022. | 88
