Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Intense, complex, refined cigar-box nose, with prunes, smoke, forest floor, tar, and rosewater. Medium to full body, with super-refined tannins; an intense, mineral mid-palate, followed by a long, fragrant, clean finish. Super Nebbiolo with a long life ahead. | 95
Stephen Brook | The nose is subdued but juicy, with cherries rather than red-fruits aromas. It’s sleek on the palate, with good concentration and a silky texture. The tannins are very much present on the mid-palate, which is welcome, and this compensates for what seems to be a slight lack of acidity. Balanced but forward and approachable, yet with enough grip to sustain it. A sleeper that should blossom with more bottle-age. Quite long. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Clear garnet red; mid-depth. At first sniff, the fruits here seem roasty, warm, almost nutty: very attractive. Later, though, the pomegranate and red plum come to seem more delicate and almost Burgundian in their choiceness and nuance. Both fresh and ripe: the perfect combination. On the palate, there is evident wealth and depth here: tongue-coating fruits in deep, ripe, sustained guise, packed with fruit but with a meaty, oak-forest richness on the finish, too. An outstanding palate, long and resonant. Give it time. 2018–25. | 93
