Bruno Besa | Brilliant garnet to tawny. Clean, elegant, intense, complex small-red-fruits nose, with fresh and dried herbs, wild strawberries, minerals, and hints of tar and tobacco. Medium body, super-refined tannins. Layered small red fruit and a very long, inviting finish. Classic Nebbiolo for long-term aging. | 94
Stephen Brook | Very ripe red-fruits nose that’s almost sweet. Rich and plump, this has ample flesh and weight, though the acidity is limited. The breadth of fruit compensates for the absence of poise and drive, and the fruit quality is certainly attractive. It drinks well now but should hold for a few years to come. | 88
Andrew Jefford | Light, translucent black red. Very attractive aromas of sweet ripe red plum, flowers, and soft leather, with a creamy bass note: classically enticing and engaging. An aromatic profile of real class. On the palate, it is relatively soft-textured, deft, and understated when it first goes into the mouth: vivid, beautifully ripe fruits (pomegranate and mulberry). After a while, though, you notice the wine’s wealth and resonant style of ripeness; and the aromatic finesse is every bit as apparent on the palate as it is on the nose. Real excellence here. 2018–24. | 93
