BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Aromatically open, complex, and refined, with an intense mineral nose, small red fruits, chalk, rosewater, and hints of oriental spices. Medium body, with refined tannins on the sweet small red fruits palate, and a clean, fragrant finish. Classic Nebbiolo with great appeal. | 93

Stephen Brook | The nose shows sweet, ripe, and intense red fruits, with admirable purity and clarity. On the palate, this is so rich and broad that it almost loses varietal typicity. It’s hard to fault the fruit concentration, but it lacks bite and nuance and persistence. It doesn’t taste overripe, but there is a lack of subtlety. Nor does it have enough acidity to give some flair and a long, invigorating finish. | 88

Andrew Jefford | Clear dark red. Sweet, rather rooty scents: plum, blood-orange, and meat, then iris root and licorice complexities. Intriguing and attractive, if slightly less classical than most. On the palate, the wine is forceful and concentrated, but it lacks some wealth and dimensions and mid-palate resonance. There’s much to enjoy, though, in the driving currant, pomegranate, and red-plum fruits. 2018–23. | 88
