BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Pale gold with a little latent spritz. Fresh and typical, with rose petal and a slight cattiness or muskiness to it, very close and intimate; lots of aromatic intrigue in this attractive profile. The palate is packed with yellow and pink grapefruit tones, which are also very typical of the variety. A full-flavored yet taut acidity provides the dominant structural note in the wine: bracing, dry, and perfumed. | 88

Anne Krebiechl | Boxwood, ripe carambola [star fruit], and hints of passion fruit combine into a tropical nose of lively freshness. The crisp palate adds a lively lemon streak and remains slender and zesty and most refreshing. A very moreish, appetizing wine that packs lots of flavor into a slender body that celebrates freshness. The finish retains that zesty and grassy verve. | 90

Stephan Reinhardt | Silver in color and still with some CO2 in the glass, though the wine had been opened eight hours before, this is an up-front, aromatic, very “modern” fruit-driven Scheurebe bouquet that also delivers some (curry) herbs on the nose, whereas the purity of the terroir remains discreetly in the background. Sweetish, fresh, and elegant on the palate, this is a racy, lush, and fruity Scheu, with a searing acidity and a salty-piquant, quite intense, and powerful finish. There is more definition, finesse, and elegance than in the first wine here [Kühling- Gillot Qvinterra Scheurebe Trocken Rheinhessen 2017] but also more residual sugar and still a lot of carbon dioxide. 2022–28. | 88
