Andrew Jefford | Mid-gold, with lots of rich white flowers and late summer yellow fruits; you might almost mistake this for a Condrieu. Deeply intriguing and alluring. An exciting wine on the palate, too, though this is one for confirmed Scheurebe lovers, since there is plenty of catty musk and close-up pheromone to give the ample mid- summer golden fruit a faintly disturbing though very attractive charge. It’s generously rich, and the acidity is just clinging on by its claws; I wouldn’t keep the wine a whole lot longer. But huge fun just now: so generous, so kinky, so camp, so vamp, but with enough balance to keep you coming back to the party, enjoying the fun—which considering it, when all is said and done, is wholesome enough. | 91
Anne Krebiechl | A wonderfully creamy and pleasantly bitter note, reminiscent of apple pip, is apparent on the nose, accompanied by aromatic bergamot- peel freshness. The intense sweetness of the palate heightens these notions and brings out those candied citrus flavors, while inherent sharpness provides the necessary citric counterpoint and thrill. All is lifted purity, intensity, and freshness. A marvel. Lovely now, certain to outlast us. | 95
Stephan Reinhardt | Quite yeasty on the nose but also pure and spicy, this is an elegant and well-balanced wine, with tinned apricot and peach flavors and the same sweetness, maybe with a leaf of mint. If you like your fruit from tins rather than from trees, this might be a nice one for you. | 78
