Simon Field | Purple color, with a ruby fade; nose of scrub and mocha, hints of tea bag behind the cassis. The palate has an attractive resinous back story, laurel and violets garlanding the fruit basket. The grip is persuasive without being stentorian, the wood drying the back a little, but time will force the quality to take over, and the result will not lack for a sense of place. Real purity here, laced with potential. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Deep black-red in color. Sweet, faintly toffeeish, rather casual aromas at first, but not unattractive. Some warm, soft-contoured red-black fruit appears after a little time in the glass, and then finally some herbal freshness. A wine that would reward decanting. The palate delivers what that evolving nose promises: a delicious, very well-judged red wine with ample Languedoc character to it (herbs, stones, warm winds). There are some well-handled tannins, and a faintly salty cast to the flavors. Not a showstopping wine, but very satisfying—and it looked better every time I went back to it. 2018–23. | 90
Jancis Robinson | Rather simple garnet with a pale rim. Sweet on the nose, with a bit of obvious oak—rather too obvious, arguably, but there is some broad, round charm. Low tannin count and some broad gentle appeal. Nicely made. Again with a little heat on the, notably persistent, finish. Just a little herbiness and tannin on the very end. Neat and fresh and sweet. 2017–24. | 92
