Simon Field | A deep authoritative color; just enough fade at the rim and interesting aromas, savory with vestigial fruit to the fore. Spicy, tannic, mid-palate grip, gently evolved fruit, with hints of soy and bacon rind behind the laurel and scrub, the primary fruit now evolved and gently compromised by time’s benevolent arrow. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Dark though not opaque black-red. Sweet and warm black-cherry fruits on the nose: lively, fresh, and well managed. There are forest and thyme notes, too, to add charm and complexity. An outstanding aroma, and by the far the best of the 2014–2012 cohort. In the mouth, this is deep, satisfying, long, and amply structured. The five years’ aging has brought calmness, tranquillity, and harmony to the wine, but it still delivers much on the palate, is wholly Languedocien in style, and has more evolution ahead. Excellent work here. 2018–22. | 90
Jancis Robinson | Dark dense crimson, with a little evolution at the rim. Clean and fresh, with great intensity and nervosité. A complete, exciting wine with a beginning, middle, and end. Great peacock’s-tail finish. This is very fine wine that is incontrovertibly Languedoc. Tastes as though some soil fragments were dissolved in it. Great power and composure. 2018–30. | 94
