Simon Field | A dark hue and fascinating aromas, punctuating the garrigue with soft fruits and hints of aniseed. The palate is sweet, softly spicy, with blackberry compote and hints of graphite to the fore. Syrah elegance, with Grenache flesh and Mourvèdre encouraging cogitation at the end of the palate. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Dark though not opaque black-red. Rounded, gentle, wild-herb macerated scents: a classic Languedoc nose in perfumed yet comforting style. There’s a little central animal warmth here, too. The overall effect is less precise and refined than the very best of its peers, but hugely attractive nonetheless. Great aromatic harmony here. On the palate, the wine is warm, full, mellow, sweetly fruity, herb-infused, gentle, comforting... but there’s no shortage of concentration or drive, either. 2018–22. | 89
Jancis Robinson | Mid-crimson, with rather a pale rim. Rich cocoa nose—well integrated. Sweet and round and charming on the nose, with some real concentration on the palate, but the acidity is a little jagged and the tannins slightly dry. Not super-sophisticated but an honest taste of the Languedoc. Transparent and gentle compared with the iron grip of [Château de la Négly Clos des Truffiers 2015] tasted immediately afterward. 2019–24. | 89
