Simon Field | Raven dark, immediately beguiling, with paradoxically reticent yet succulent aromas; garrigue, incense, chocolate, black coffee, figs, and almond... very talkative for a reticent child. The palate has already softened, the tannins discrete custodians, the fruit elegant and concentrated. Extracted and reasonably oaky, the overall impression is of a gifted artisan, unafraid to adorn his finely judged still-life with a personal and very distinct imprimatur. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Saturated deep black-red. Another very ripe wine, but sweetly attractive this time: lots of pure black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, even a little black cherry) in sweet, lively style. Relatively pure and fresh, without copious garrigue or earthy notes; in their place some chocolate. Attractive. On the palate, this is relatively smooth though still amply textured, rounded, deep, the aromatic sweetness in fact much less apparent in the mouth. Some outstanding fruit qualities here, and a very good Languedoc wine with plenty of accessibility and general appeal. 2018–23. | 91
Jancis Robinson | Purplish crimson. Clean, fresh, cocktail of ripe fruit aroma with some sweet, very slightly flat, fruit quality. Could do with just a tad more vitality and zip. Was the fruit picked a day too late? But without comparison with its peers, this would look pretty smart. A certain leatheriness of texture. Acidity is certainly there, as is a light menthol character. 2019–24. | 88
