BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | A very complete piece of draftsmanship, tannins and acidity in a perfect counterpoint to celebrate an intriguing development, yet already harmonious and finely judged. A resinous core, with notes of eucalypt and fennel adding an interesting and tuneful cadenza. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red. Rounded and warm, but relatively low-focus aromas compared to the best of its peers. On the other hand, it has an almost claretty classicism that is very attractive; there are certainly no false notes; and it draws you into the glass. That is very much what you find in the mouth. Balanced, fresh, lively, approachable red Languedoc wine crafted around a core of dancing curranty fruit, and ample classicism in a universal rather than Languedoc style. Drinkable, balanced and refreshing at table. Absolutely nothing overripe or baroque here. 2018–25. | 90

Jancis Robinson | Still very dark crimson. A less intense nose than some. A bit of jujube, a bit of licorice. Broad, evolved fruit with acid more prominent than tannin. Rather ungenerous stringy finish. Ends very suddenly. Not one of the most eloquent Languedoc reds. Vigorous, certainly! But a little bit mean. 2018–22. | 88
