Simon Field | Softer color, yet with intimations of reduction; hints of Brett maybe, the palate drying and a little compromised at the end. | 86
Andrew Jefford | A clear deep red: the lightest wine in our tasting so far. Grassy, rather tenuous aromas which suggest a struggle for ripeness. On the palate, too, this is a correctly made wine with true Languedoc style from a lighter vintage. It’s not in fact unripe, but it doesn’t have the resonance of 2015 and 2016. Pleasant, but hurry along. 2018–20. | 85
Jancis Robinson | Very transparent and red! A very different color to most of the wines in this lineup of hand-picked Languedoc reds. Is this Cinsaut? Super-transparent fruit and dusty tannins and rather a relief from the rest of the dense, tense, dark reds. Bravo! Round and rosy without a long future ahead of it, but a lovely, distinctive wine for current sipping—even without food. 2017–20. | 89
