Simon Field | Dense rich patina, and an equally powerful and persuasive aromatic; kirsch, blackberry, and a hint of tapenade. Attractive and eloquent, but not far from being overworked and even overblown. The palate is broad, a little volatile, edgy, precocious, and very tannic. Chocolate, fig, and a hint of scrub all evidenced... sui generis, uncompromising, and impressive. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red in color; not quite opaque. Powerful and rather individual aromas of throbbing, warm engines. A forthcoming but intriguing aromatic profile; slightly yogurty raspberry fruits beneath the warm throb. Dense, dark, deep though rather unlovely wine, without a lot of fresh-fruit purity and precision. There is plenty of concentration, though, and the wine is well structured, so it would still provide drinking pleasure. 2018–20. | 84
Jancis Robinson | Deep blackish crimson. On the cusp of overripeness but lots of sweetness and pleasure. Just not that much freshness. Could do with a bit more acidity and structure rather than just capturing very ripe fruit. A bit hollow in the middle and the volatility increased with time. 2017–20. | 87
